Childers Ranch

Wayne and Betsy Childers live just North of Edgemont, SD, which lies in the southern edge of the Black Hills. They raise black Angus cattle, Corriente cattle and Quarter Horses. Outside the ranching, Wayne trains and competes in Calf Roping, while Betsy trains and competes in Barrel Racing.

Childers stand "My Wilywood" at their ranch for a fee of $750.00. He is an own son of "Wilywood", going back to Driftwood twice. They have been competing on him in rodeos as well as using him on the ranch. He has a natural talent for working cattle. All the horses ridden and trained by Childers are used on the ranch and are able to cover country.

Wayne and Betsy have several mares they have crossed with My Wilywood. The mares go back to Colonel Freckles, Doc Bar, Lightening Bar, Jet Smooth, Sugar Bars, Mr. San Peppy, Dash For Cash, Easy Jet, Easy Duplicate, Dr. Kirk and Frenchmans Guy.
